ams OSRAM TMD3725 3-in-1 Color Sensor Module offers advanced proximity measurement, color sense (RGBC+IR), and digital ambient light sensing (ALS) in a single compact package. The TMD3725 module incorporates an IR LED and factory-calibrated LED driver. The proximity detection feature provides object detection via photodiode detection of reflected IR energy, sourced by the integrated LED. Detect/release events are interrupt-driven, and occur when the proximity result crosses the upper/lower threshold settings. The proximity engine features offset adjustment registers to compensate for unwanted IR energy reflection at the sensor. Proximity results are further improved by automatic ambient light subtraction.The ALS detection feature provides photopic light intensity data. The color photodiodes have UV and IR blocking filters and dedicated integrated data converters, which convert photodiode currents into 16-bit data. This digital output can be interfaced with a microprocessor where illuminance and color temperature can be calculated to control a display's backlight and chromaticity.
The ams OSRAM TMD3725 Color Sensor Module is offered in a tiny 2.2mm x 3.6mm Organic Land Grid Array (OLGA) package, ideal for space-constrained applications.
